Summary: Lovely homely apartment with a very nice owner. We were picked up and returned to station and helped many times. Would recommend this as a perfect place to spend time exploring and relaxing.

Summary: The booking of the apartment was easy, with the pictures and description on the website being an accurate representation, and then good contact with the owner meant that the arrival was trouble free. The apartment is in a lovely location close to the town, but without any passing traffic, despite being next to the railway line we were not disturbed by the trains. The apartment was clean and ready for us on arrival with good quality furniture and fittings, and ample good quality plates/pans etc. There was a good range of tourist information provided for us (in English!), which was a nice touch. Would recommend this location for couples wanting a central base to explore the southern Black Forest region.

Summary: We (my husband and me) visited Hinterzarten in July 2016. We drive from Barcelona (Spain). Hinterzarten is a perfect place to sleep, as a “base-camp” in Blackforest, as if you do not want to take the car, you can take a lot of walking trails that depart directly from Hinterzarten on foot, there are lots of hiking paths. There are another several trips near Hinterzarten to be reached by car or bus. In addition, there is a train station, so this adds a comfortable option to visit Freiburg, as the traffic at the entrance of Freiburg is horrible (traffic jam). There are lots of nice walking trips, we specially recommends the one named: “Hinterzarten (Löffeltal street) - Ravennaschlucht – Löffeltal (Löffeltal street)”. The village is equipped with at least basic services, like supermarket, bakery, tourist info office and some restaurants and local food shops. Regarding the apartment, it was really nice and clean, it is perfect for two people. There was parking car area just in front of the main door, always available. Although it is near the trail rail this was not a problem, as the apartment is oriented to the garden on the opposite side of the street (it is not oriented to the train rail side), so it is quiet. Besides, the train is not running during the night. The apartment was really well equipped. The bed is comfortable. The owner was always available by phone and she is really friendly and nice. Clean bathroom with large shower cubicle. I am sure we will repeat in the future!
